Professor Anne Andermann is an Affiliated Researcher at the Bennett School of Public Policy. She is a social policy and technical expert with two decades of experience both within academia as well as working across multiple levels of government. She has held leadership roles as a Regional Medical Officer at Health Canada, a public appointment to a National Advisory Council on Poverty advising the Minister for Children, Families and Social Development Canada, a technical expert in evidence synthesis for policy at a public health institute and a health technology assessment agency, and as technical advisor and consultant to the World Health Organization in Geneva.
Anne’s central research interest is identifying and implementing evidence-based and ethically sound approaches for creating supportive social infrastructure for families, schools, communities and digital spaces, to improve health and well-being, level-up underserved groups experiencing poverty and homelessness, strengthen human capital for increased productivity, and help societies to be more resilient and withstand global shocks from climate change or geopolitical instability.
A former Rhodes Scholar, Anne holds degrees in history of ideas from the University of Cambridge and a DPhil in Public Health from Oxford University, as well as dual certification as a GP and Public Health Consultant. She has enjoyed teaching MPP students at Princeton and McGill university, as well as being a visiting professor and consulting internationally.
She is currently Director of Andermann Consulting Ltd, a London-based firm providing advisory services ranging from evidence-informed decision-making and public health ethics for guiding policy to addressing global governance challenges.
