Biography
Dr Henry Midgley is Associate Professor of Accounting at Durham University. Before joining Durham in 2021, he spent thirteen years working at the National Audit Office, working on both financial audits of government departments and value for money reports. He also went on secondment to the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee and the Scrutiny Unit at the House of Commons where he was the responsible staff member for the Public Administration Committee’s work on Carillion and their “groundbreaking” work on government accounting. Henry holds a PhD in History from Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
