Mary MacLennan is a behavioural scientist working at the intersection of behavioural science, artificial intelligence and public policy. She leads efforts to integrate behavioural science across the United Nations (UN), including through the UN Behavioural Science Group, supporting colleagues across more than 70 UN entities and 150 countries.
Her research examines how AI represents human behaviour, the validity of synthetic data and behavioural simulations, and how individuals and institutions adopt AI. Her work combines experimental methods with real-world behavioural evidence to address questions of measurement and generalisability across populations and institutional contexts.
