Sam Bowman is a founding editor of Works in Progress, described as ‘a magazine of new and underrated ideas to improve the world’. It was founded in 2020.
Before founding Works in Progress Sam was, amongst other things, Executive Director of the Adam Smith Institute, responsible for strategy and overall management, and focused on labour market economics.
He is also a co-founder of the Entrepreneurs’ Network, an entrepreneurship think tank, and the author of influential papers on monetary, labour market and migration policy.
Sam holds degrees in economics and history from University College Cork and SOAS, University of London, and was the winner of the 2009 John B O’Brien prize for economic history.
