Representing the Bennett School of Public Policy, Professor Michael Kenny, Inaugural Director, attended a series of high-level meetings with senior figures in the Spanish Government, and at an audience with the King of Spain.

The Bennett School’s Prof Michael Kenny, attended a royal audience with King Felipe VI in Madrid in February 2026, aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration with heads of some of the world’s leading public policy schools.
Michael joined other international deans at Zarzuela Palace, Madrid for a three-day workshop organised by the Prime Minister’s Office to discuss some of the most pressing policy challenges facing Spain, and to assess how the government, led by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, is approaching them.
Participating universities included the Bennett School of Public Policy at the University of Cambridge, the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University, Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University (Beijing), the Hertie School of Government in Berlin, Sciences Po in Paris, and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore.
