In this year's Public Policy Lecture, Professor Ricardo Hausmann, Harvard Kennedy School, will discuss "Public Policy in the Age of Disruption".

This year’s Annual Public Policy Lecture will be delivered by Professor Ricardo Hausmann, Harvard Kennedy School, on “Public Policy in the Age of Disruption”.

Prof Hausmann will reflect on how public policy — especially centred on economic growth — is changing in response to today’s turbulent world. With climate change, rising geopolitical tensions, deglobalisation and rapid technological shifts reshaping economies, the 21st century is redefining the constraints and opportunities faced by countries and regions.

Drawing on his research on economic complexity, his experience in government, his extensive work assisting countries in building the capabilities and policies needed to prosper, and teaching generations of future public leaders at Harvard, Prof Hausmann will discuss what kinds of tools, judgement and leadership today’s policymakers need if they are to help societies escape stagnation and create new opportunities for prosperity in the 21st century.

Prof Hausmann is joined in conversation by Dr Alessio Terzi, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Bennett School of Public Policy.
