This catalogue of interventions to address gender disparities in grant funding serves as a resource for funders and research organisations aiming to improve inclusivity in application rates and application outcomes.

The Improving Inclusivity in Grant Funding project investigates disparities in grant funding outcomes among researchers with different demographic characteristics at the University of Cambridge and explores strategies to reduce these inequalities. This report brings together interventions proposed in the academic and policy literature that have the potential to address gender disparities at two key stages of the grant funding process: application rates and funding outcomes.
The report provides an overview of 29 interventions and is intended as a practical resource for UK and international funders and research organisations. It offers a range of evidence-informed approaches that can be adapted to different organisational contexts, funding schemes, and priorities. While not intended to be exhaustive, it serves as a starting point for organisations seeking to improve inclusivity in grant funding.
We are grateful to everyone at the University of Cambridge and beyond who contributed to and supported this work.
