The AI & Geopolitics Project (AIxGEO) is an initiative dedicated to a more cooperative future for AI and geopolitics.
The idea that AI is an arms race between the US and China has taken hold of contemporary geopolitics. But is it the right framing?
AIxGEO exists to interrogate the framing of AI development as a zero-sum arms race between two superpowers, and to shift the policy debate towards a more cooperative future so the technology can deliver the broad benefits it promises.
AIxGEO has three core strategic pillars:
- Research: We analyse the core root of the narratives surrounding the geopolitics of AI and identify opportunities for international collaboration and original approaches to delivering long-term global benefit from the technology.
- Convening: Based on our research and experience, we foster networks of those seeking to understand a broader approach to AI and geopolitics.
- Communication: We translate and distribute relevant learnings into actionable insights for key stakeholders through robust, accessible communications and high-impact academic, policy, and media engagements.
