SpaceX's dominance of the emerging space economy bears a striking resemblance to the power once exercised by colonial-era trading companies, according to new research.

Elon Musk’s firm, SpaceX, accounted for 75% of space launches last year, prompting Cambridge academics to warn of unchecked corporate power.
